Have you really come out?

Whether you’ve come out as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer – you’re still hidden in this country. Without data that identifies the LGBT community, LGBT people are invisible in the eyes of our government.

That’s why we’re telling the federal government that it’s time to count EVERYONE in our community.

Can we count on you to join the fight? We’re campaigning to change the Census in future years to make sure it includes questions that identify LGBT people. And it's more than just the Census -- we need all the yearly surveys the government conducts to do this as well. We need to be counted. When we go to bat for things like LGBT health services or hate crime prevention, we can use this data to prove our point. We'll be able to say, "Look, there are people who need this in your district."

It doesn’t matter if you’re LGBT or an ally of our community. We need you to sign the petition on this page to demand that the census and all federal surveys ask questions that count EVERYONE! To show you how much we appreciate your support, we’ll send you a free “Count me in!” Queer the Census sticker.

Attention U.S. Census Bureau:
I believe that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans deserve to be counted in the Census and in other federal surveys. I support the inclusion of questions that would allow LGBT people to show the true diversity of our communities.
